Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh green beans, washed
  • fresh dill, or 1-2 teaspoons dried dill
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 ½ tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • ½ teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper

Instructions

  • Bring 3 cups water to a boil. Use a medium sauce pan that has a steamer basket. In the meantime, snap the stem ends off of green beans.
  • When the water is boiling, add the green beans to the steamer basket and cover. Steam for 7 minutes or until beans are al dente.
  • Immediately immerse the beans in a cold water ice bath (medium size bowl filled with water and ice). Let sit for 5 minutes.
  • Drain the water. Move the beans to a container or gallon size plastic bag. Add dill, garlic, 1 olive oil, sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper. Shake container or bag and put in fridge until ready to serve.
